Had an amazing stay!!! Was a little further out of big bend itself but honestly was so worth it. Gorgeous views and the hammock was an amazing touch I was obsessed with laying on it and watching the stars. Would definitely book again!

Exactly what it looks like and it’s perfect. Could see how some have trouble finding location in the dark but the directions are very detailed so just make sure to follow them.

Everything was great! Melanie's clear instructions made it easy to find. It's just as described. The tents are spread out for privacy, but we were the only ones there for most of the trip anyway. The views are amazing and location was perfect. Close to Big Bend and local spots. Melanie was kind and made sure our stay was pleasant. Would stay here again.

We loved our stay at Melanie’s campsite. She was kind enough to offer a grill on the site (we brought our own fuel), and we are surprised by the well stocked shower and restroom! It’s a close drive to the west entrance of the Park and we would definitely stay with her again on our next Big Bend trip.

Solid campsite and very close to the park. Easy to get back to the main road while still having some separation for light/noise. Hammocks and tables are a nice addition at the individual sites.

Mel's place is exactly as she describes and illustrates it! No surprises here. The best part about it, for me was the comfortable and cozy feel she has achieved by all of the necessities she provides plus the creative way in which she has made the space unique and settling to the soul. The porch is the perfect place to think, experience, and revive. I loved watching the birds at the bird feeder too! Great place all the way around! Next time I am in the area, I will stay here again.

Melanie was great to work with. there was a pretty good dust storm the day we came in and she communicated early about it so we could prepare for not being able to use our camp stove or a fire for dinner. Her place is so close to Big Bend, it was just a hop skip and a jump to get there, making that early morning to watch the sun rise in Santa Elena Canyon that much easier. The sun rises and set over her own place however wete quite spectacular! loved the off grid shower. Was perfect temp the days we were there and a great way to end the night after the hot days hiking. We had a wonderful time and would stay here again if we make another trip out.

Mel’s Place was very welcoming and clean when we first arrived. She had everything one would need and it was very aesthetic. We loved the decorations and location of the cabin. Would definitely book again.

I loved my stay at Mel’s place. It was exactly as described and perfect. Close to park and anything you might need but you won’t need anything if you can sit on the patio and watch the birds at the feeder and the sun rise and set!

Beautiful area and close enough to stores to drive to should you need anything. Melanie was incredible as she was extremely communicative and helpful the entire time! She saved the day by quickly coming by to sew up the tent door when the zipper gave out during the wind advisory. Could not have asked for a better place, host, and phenomenal experience. Would recommend to stay here to anyone!
