Just show up and enjoy! All set up, furnished and ready for you. 2 xtra guests allowed. They must bring their own tent or other sleeping arrangement, or they may sleep on the outside stargazer bed provided. ** This site has a nice private feel and a primo view of the Chisos mountains in the national park where you can see the often stunning sunrise right from your pillow. **Two vehicles max at this site. *A picnic table, rock firepit with cooking grate and large cooler are provided. *Clean shared outhouse and SHOWER about 200 ft away.

Important! YOU MUST FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS IN YOUR RESERVATION TO GET HERE. *GPS is not reliable here! My road is not in navigation apps! Screenshot the directions while you have cell service. *THE SIGN WHERE YOU TURN into the campground IS IN THE PHOTOS. You travel 1 mile when you turn off the hwy before you get to this sign. Access to the campground is a mile and a half of mild to moderate pretty bumpy uneven dirt roads. 4x4 not required, *but you will need high clearance*

Convenient location! Close to Everything! The view of the Chisos mountains from camp is about the best around. Front and center is Emory Peak, the highest point in the park at 7860 ft. Gas station, restaurant, laundromat, bank, only 1.5 miles from camp. Grocery store is 3 miles. Entrance to BBNP is 5 miles. The state park is 15 miles away on hwy 170. Terlingua ghostown is 5 miles.

Your assigned campsite, the outhouse/shower, and 15 acres, mostly east and south towards the Chisos mountains. *For your conveince there is a trash dumpster in my driveway. *Please be respectful of other guests and don't enter another campsite without their permission.. Thank you and enjoy.

Tout était parfait ! Les instructions claires de Melanie ont facilité l'accès. L'endroit est exactement comme décrit. Les tentes sont espacées pour plus d'intimité, mais de toute façon, nous étions les seuls sur place pendant la majeure partie du séjour. Les vues sont incroyables et l'emplacement était parfait. Proche de Big Bend et des lieux locaux. Melanie était gentille et s'est assurée que notre séjour soit agréable. Nous reviendrions sans hésiter. Everything was great! Melanie's clear instructions made it easy to find. It's just as described. The tents are spread out for privacy, but we were the only ones there for most of the trip anyway. The views are amazing and location was perfect. Close to Big Bend and local spots. Melanie was kind and made sure our stay was pleasant. Would stay here again.

Mel a été très communicative et serviable tout au long de notre séjour. Nous n'avons eu aucun problème à rester ici et c'était l'alternative parfaite lorsque nous n'avons pas trouvé de campings ouverts à Big Bend. Les étoiles étaient magnifiques et l'endroit a été une excellente introduction au camping pour ma femme qui n'en avait jamais fait auparavant. Nous n'avons pas essayé les douches mais toutes les autres commodités étaient de super ajouts à notre voyage. Je recommande ! Mel was super communicative and helpful throughout our time. We had no problems staying here and it was the perfect alternative when we couldn’t find campgrounds open in Big Bend. The stars were amazing and the space was a great introduction to camping for my wife who had never been before. We didn’t try the showers but all the other amenities were great additions to our trip. Would recommend!

Mon mari et moi avons vraiment apprécié Mel’s Place ! Les instructions étaient extrêmement faciles à suivre et nous avons trouvé l’endroit sans aucun problème. Nous avons adoré les environs et tout était exactement comme décrit ! C’était un endroit relaxant et assez proche du parc, donc c’est un énorme avantage ! My husband and I really enjoyed Mel’s Place! The instructions were incredibly easy to follow and we were able to find the place with zero issues. We loved the surroundings and everything was exactly as described! It was a relaxing spot and pretty close to the park, so that’s a huge win!

Nous avons adoré notre séjour chez Mel ! L'emplacement était privé, paisible, et sans doute la meilleure option si l'on ne loge pas à l'intérieur du parc. Nous n'aurions pas pu être plus proches de Big Bend Boating and Hiking company, ce qui a rendu notre départ matinal pour notre excursion en kayak d'une journée très facile. Les lits étaient un vrai cadeau de confort après de longues journées à explorer Big Bend. Nous avons été pris dans des vents extrêmes, mais Mel a été très réactif et s'est assuré que nous ayons tout ce dont nous avions besoin pendant notre séjour. À seulement quelques minutes de Terlingua Ghost Town et à dix minutes de l'entrée du parc national de Big Bend. We loved our stay at Mel’s place! The location was private, serene, & arguably the best option if not staying inside the park. We couldn’t have been closer to Big Bend Boating and Hiking company which made reporting bright and early for our all-day kayaking trip super easy. The beds offered such a gift of comfort after long days exploring Big Bend. We got caught in some extreme winds, but Mel was super responsive and made sure we had what we needed throughout our stay. Just a few minutes from Terlingua Ghost Town and ten from the Big Bend National Park entrance.

Je ne compte plus le nombre de fois où j'ai séjourné chez Mel. C'est vraiment un excellent rapport qualité-prix. La vue est incroyable et c'est tout près du BBNP. Je continuerai à venir ici. 🩷 I have lost count of how many times I have stayed at Mel’s place. It such a bang for your buck. It has amazing view and super close to BBNP. I will continue to stay here. 🧡
