Private with nice space between campsites, but understand there is no tall vegetation here to create a buffer in the desert. Beautiful stay just outside of BBNP! Camping out at Mel’s place was extremely worth it and the campfire and hammock made it so amazing to watch the stars at night. Our host was very helpful and responsive. I would 100% recommend to anyone who is looking to make their adventure to the park that much more enjoyable!

I've been to Terlingua several times, and Mel's place offered the best opportunity for looking at the stars and surrounding mountains that I've ever had in the area. This is essentially turn-key camping. No setup or gear required, just arrive to the campsite and enjoy the tent/table/other amenities and your surroundings.
